The Defence Research and Development Organisation Pensioners (Scientists/Officers) Welfare Society has been formed in Dehradun and is registered with the Registrar of Societies, Uttarakhand since August 2002.

The Society is a non-political, non-commercial, a social welfare organisation free from party, group, religion and linguistic affiliations.

The society holds its meetings and family get-together regularly in DRDO officers institute at Dehradun, where members and their families exchange their views and share their experiences of retired life. The society also arranges informative talks on various issues from Guest speakers from time to time for the benefit of members. The society has about 140 members on its roll.
